Blocked, Again!

San Francisco has miles of bicycle lanes. We fought long and hard for them, in and out of court. Nice to see them being used by those who need them most.

They would be so much nicer if they were not blocked. All the time. Perhaps I will start a catalogue of what I have come to think of as "San Francisco Airport's Most Amazing, Extended Cell Phone Parking Lot and Delivery Zone".

  1. I feel your pain. We have a few bicycle lanes in the area in which I live (about 40 miles outside Chicago) and people don't care about abusing them - AT ALL.

Thankfully, there ARE many trails to ride where cars and trucks can't go - so recreational riding is pretty much okay.

It's just that utility riding gets to be a pain.

  2. Stuff like this makes me so mad. I drive and ride everyday. My commute is really long, so I have a folding bike that I keep in my car. When I drive, I *never* obstruct the bike lanes. When I'm on my bike, I feel like the bike lane is either the unofficial right turn lane or becomes the regular car travel lane if someone up ahead is making a left turn into oncoming traffic. Drives me crazy. Those lanes are there for bikes!
