Do you ever get the feeling someone is looking at you? Or maybe they are looking at the bike.

  1. OK, I admit it, I am looking in that general direction for a few seconds too long :)

  2. A very good looking Cycle Chick in Espadrille Shoes ,I think that is what they are called and a very nice looking Bike.

Nice Balmy Weather in California as usual although in Nth Europe it has gone very mild and some People are even Chancing going around in Tee Shirts ,but as the Evening approaches it gets very cold.

  4. I just bought a black pair. The first ones I have owned in years. They make really good cycling shoes. I am hoping that wearing them with wool socks will prevent the stink : )

  7. I've always been a Keds kinda kid. I like mine in mono black, and a half size (which are no longer available in Chucks, so the one pair I happen to have now will be my last I guess).

As I understand it that has suddenly transformed me from an ultra-dweeb into the ranks of the ultra-cool, all by staying in the same place.

Life is strange; people are stranger.

And yes, the wool socks will virtually eliminate any stink; don't ask me how I know.

  9. KFG- I just bought a 10 1/2. I was surprised I could get a half size in something like chucks (all black! great minds, doncha know!)

  10. my self-imposed "uniform" all through junior high was pegged levi 501s, a solid colored pocket tee and black low top chuck taylor all stars. bought another pair a few years ago mostly for bike riding but the retro geezer grouches shamed me into getting real bike shoes...

  11. I think it is time for a new pair! Maybe that should be the official show of the "Change Your Life. Ride A Bike!" road team : )

Anyway, those "real" bike shoes make you slip on the stairs. Or, so I hear : )

  12. Eric - you've been listening to the wrong retro geezer grouches. Go to the Rivendell website and read what Grant Petersen, the prototypical retro geezer grouch (the term "retro grouch" was actually coined to describe him), has to say about shoes.

I've ridden hundreds of thousands of miles in cleated cycling shoes; and also haven't touched a pair in years.

If you're going to sprint in the rain, get cleats; if you're not, get shoes that are comfy - to walk in.
